Code of Conduct

Principles (Tenets)
At Kenilworth Practical Martial Arts Club we aim to maintain the highest standards of conduct within our group in line with our core principles (tenets) of
Honesty · Integrity · Courtesy · Respect · Perseverance · Self Control · Indomitable Spirit
As a group practicing a martial art it is fundamental that discipline is maintained at all times and examples of unacceptable behaviour would include:
Use of abusive or threatening behavior · Any act of physical violence or assault
The following guidelines give examples of the standards of behaviour that we expect in our club:
Treat everyone with respect · Be considerate to each other · Show self-control at all times · Learn with enthusiasm
Rules and Regulations
1. Member's fees are to be paid before the start of each class.
2. No use of tobacco products, horse-play, loud talk, or foul language in any part of the dojo.
3. Bow when entering and leaving the work-out area.
4. Keep fingernails and toenails short; do not wear watches and jewellery during class.
5. Always address your instructor in the dojo as "Sir" or "Sensei"
6. During class, respond quickly to instructions without hesitation and never argue with an instructor.
7. Show enthusiasm, spirit, and good sportsmanship at all times.
8. Always wear your complete uniform unless specified otherwise and wash regularly your uniform.
9. When working with others, always begin and end with a bow.
10. If you arrive late for class, bow in and wait for the instructor to signal you to join the class. If you must leave early, inform the instructor prior to the start of class.
11. Speak kindly of others and be supportive.
12. Inform us of any physical and emotional condition you or your child may have that may require special attention.
13. Bare feet only are allowed in the practice area unless there is a medical condition, which requires the feet to be covered.
14. Please take home all items brought into the class. We are not responsible for clothes, uniforms, shoes, etc. left in the hall.
15. Students should arrive at class approximately 5 - 10 minutes before the start of the class. This is to ensure the class starts exactly on time and finishes on time.
16. There is to be no horse play or any activity that could be dangerous to others.
17. Drinks. No fizzy or high sugar drinks are allowed in the hall. However water may be brought to the class as long as it is inside a suitable container, for example, water bottle with a screw type cap
18. Food. Food is not permitted to be consumed within the hall.
19. All Members graded 8th Kyu and above are required to have and to use safety equipment whilst training.
